I bought this house in February 2005 after getting hooked on the scenery in this part of Japan.

The house is approximately 100 years old and was a silk worm farm - an important part of Japan's agricultural history.
The renovation process has had many ups and downs and continues to be a challenge. With record snows and rains in recent months, nature is not giving up its grip on the property without a struggle!

I am very grateful for the help I have received from Mr. K. Horikawa, Mr. P. Beardsley, Mrs. K.Tamari,Mr. Y. Imadegawa, Mr. F. Sava, Mr. Brian Macdonald, Mr. R. Nikolai and Mr. T. Lewis.
